Meeting God In Prayer

Presented by Betsy McNeil 
In imaginative prayer, the same Holy spirit who inspired the authors of the Gospels also inspires (literally “breathes into”) our imagination in a way that draws us closer to Christ. Prayer is a conversation with God; imaginative prayer creates space for that encounter. The heart of imaginative prayer is to “meet” God in a personal way.

DEJARME ENCONTRAR POR CRISTO

El Papa Benedicto XVI nos escribía en su primera encíclica: “No se comienza a ser cristiano por una decisión ética o una gran idea, sino por el encuentro con un acontecimiento, con una Persona, que da un nuevo horizonte a la vida y, con ello, una orientación decisiva.” (Deus Caritas est, 1). Y este “Encuentro parte de Dios mismo, enviando a su Hijo único a que nos encuentre. El Evangelio está lleno de estos momentos donde Jesús sale al encuentro de las personas reales, y cuando las personas lo descubren esto es un “acontecimiento” que cambia completamente la vida de quien se deja encontrar por el Señor. No se trata solamente de saber, sino sobre todas las cosas, de dejarse encontrar por Él. En la conferencia veremos un texto bíblico aplicado a nuestras vidas.

FAMILIA: Comunidad de comunidades

Presentado por Ricardo Grzona 
La Iglesia es la comunidad de los “Convocados”, que, a través del encuentro con el Señor, se reúnen para vivir en la fe y desde la fe. Pero es importante no descuidar la primera comunidad en donde debemos manifestar que Jesús es el Señor, y es la Familia. El modelo de la sociedad se basa en la Familia como la primera comunidad cristiana, donde aprendemos a orar, a vivir nuestra fe en forma efectiva, y donde los valores son transformados en virtudes que duran toda la vida. Luego, el reflejo es con otras familias donde juntos formamos la gran comunidad de fe en el Señor y en su Iglesia. Debemos aprender que el “Señor está aquí y nos llama”, a vivir la fe, a creer de verdad y a dejarse maravillar por este encuentro. En la conferencia tomaremos unos textos bíblicos que nos interpelen para ser verdaderas comunidades en nuestras familias.
